Beambox at 2017 MOTAT Science Street Fair
Frederique, Neelam and summer student Zak Whiting presented the new Beambox to the public at the 2017 MOTAT Science Street Fair in Auckland.
Zak’s scholarship work had focused on adding composition capability to the Beambox. Each box transmitted an audio track, consisting of a single instrument part.
Thus, when the boxes are combined the layers of instruments built until the full ensemble was playing. He composed two pieces of music – a pop song and a rock song. The day was a great success with over 2,200 people through the gates.
