NZFSSRC Annual Symposium and the NZIFST Annual Conference

Dr Frederique Vanholsbeeck, Abi Thampi and Joni White attended the NZ Food Safety Science & Research Centre (NZFSSRC) Annual Symposium and the New Zealand Institute of Food Science and Technology (NZIFST) Annual Conference at the Distinction Hotel, Te Rapa, Hamilton.

Frederique gave an invited talk on the FoodSafe project titled “Real time bacterial enumeration and detection using spectroscopic fluorescence method."

Joni won an award for the best 3-minute thesis competition at the NZFSSRC AGM and Abi won an award for the best poster presentation at the NZIFST Conference.

Both students secured a grant from the Food and Health Programme to attend the Conferencee and the excellence of research pursued by the group was applauded.
